What is a Purity Ball?

A Purity Ball, now in 49 states and funded by your tax dollars, is an evangelical prom/wedding hybrid attended by young girls (starting at 4 years old) and their dates: their Dads. The girls exchange rings, take vows, and pledge their most precious gift, their virginity, to their fathers. In turn, the fathers pledge to guard this most precious gift until their daughter marries and her sexuality transfers to her husband.

There is an exchange of rings, a delicious meal, Purity ballerinas, musical entertainment, and a Biblical exploration of virginity. Then the father/daughter couples dance the night away. An unforgettable night of glamour and father/daughter intimacy.

Because we cherish our daughters as regal princesses—for as 1 Peter 3:4 says they are Òprecious in the sight of God—we want to treat them as royalty.
